I just finished writing for a new rap colab, and finished the ending of a new song. Stepped away from the computer, came back, FROZEN. Stepped away for about fifteen minutes. When I tried to restart the dam thing(I mean the love of my life) it was just turning on with a grey screen and a blinking question mark. NOt reading the start up disk I'm told by the big wigs at apple. 400 to 1500 hundred dollars to retrieve mem. Yeah right I have an extra grand to spend. So since last week my computer has been in the shop, I feel lonely in a nerdy kind of way. I really now know how much my dam computer (I mean lovely girl) means to me, Everything. Can't live with out it. Just as important as my guitar. Yep I admitt it. I need my dam computer(I mean sexy black). So I'm on my friends computer, I know if my computer found out she would be so jealous. I won't tell her, hope she doesn't smell the DELL on me. Much love to all who support me. Really sucks J!!! Haha..I am sure 'sexy black' will smell that DELL on you!!! Did they give you any kind of time frame as to when you will get your computer back? I am telling you...a few days without a computer and the internet, you realize that you have a sickness and that sickness is being addicted to your computer/internet!! I have been there my friend! Good luck and may they retrieve your memory in its entirety!!!

whatever you do, do not goto mac for harddrive recovery, they will charge you out the asshole for it. My friend had this happen to his mac last year and seriously you should goto someone else (mac is required to give you several options for where to go so just force it out of one of the genius') alternative harddrive recovery folks will charge you a fraction of the cost, yes, it'll still be very expensive, but it won't be the elephant of a charge mac will slap you with.

i know how you feel. my last mac died recently, broke my heart, but i just bought a brand new macbook pro with all the works, multitouch, etc, and its my new love. i protect it with my life. haha. computers are like children or pets, its like, once you can take care of a computer then you can take care of a dog then you can take care of a child. its a new part of the system! :)

Yikes! Yea I would definitely get a frew quotes on that before getting anyone to fix it. The blinking ? sounds kind of odd... Good luck with that brother, hope it all works out...

Sorry to hear that bro, do a search for "data recovery" that will find some alternative sources for retreiving data off the HDD. It is expensive, but if the HDD has your music files on it, might be worth the expense. That's the sucky part about Apple ... they build their exclusive pieces/parts so that they alone control the game, at twice the price. Hope you get up and running again.. D.
